About Me

Hey Everyone! My name is Joel Adimathra. I'm a piano performance student at the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston. Here's a little info about myself:

I came from a musical background. I started taking piano lessons at the age of five, and learned the basics from my father, a musician as well. A couple of years later, I won a first division rating in the elementary level of the young pianists competition in McAllen, Texas. I  studied with Ann Stone, an eminent pianist in the Rio Grande Valley, and Iby Kovacs, a graduate of the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Budapest, Hungary. When I turned 14, I moved to Houston and studied with Dr. Jerico Vasquez, a pupil of Betty Ruth Tomfohrde and Abbey Simon, an internationally acclaimed concert pianist.

Along with pursuing a career as a concert pianist, I'm the choir director/pianist at Disciples United Methodist Church, and I teach piano to people of all ages.
